Vasectomy Reversal and Tubal Ligation Reversal by Australia's only full-time Reproductive Microsurgeon
When it comes to your fertility treatment the experience and skill of your treating doctor is crucial to its success. How many patients with your problem your doctor has treated matters (a lot). How many operations he or she has performed is an essential influence of the success of your surgery. It is very much in your best interests to ensure that your fertility specialist is appropriately qualified and trained.
My practice is now entirely focused on this important area of medicine - the only doctor in Australia to fully specialize in reproductive microsurgery.
With over 5000 vasectomy reversal operations and 2000 tubal ligation reversal operations undertaken over three decades I have performed more reproductive microsurgical operations than any other doctor in active practice in Australia. Having previously performed more than 6000 IVF procedures you can be confident that I bring the full range of experience and depth of expertise necessary to ensure you will gain the best possible outcome.
There is a spectrum of microsurgical operations that I perform. Among the most common are:
Microsurgical vasectomy reversal has impressive results when performed by specialist reproductive microsurgeons who are constantly performing large numbers of operations
Tubal ligation reversal
Microsurgical fallopian tube reanastomsis to reverse a prior female sterilisation procedure is one of these most successful fertility related surgical procedures
Repair of damage to male and female reproductive organs
There are a range of both female and male diseases and conditions which cause ether damage to or obstruction of the reproductive organs that can be effectively treated by microsurgical repair. These particularly include fallopian tube adhesions, the consequences of pelvic inflammatory disease and epididymal cysts.
Microsurgical methods are by far the most accurate and effective way of overcoming damaged reproductive organs in both men and women to restore fertility.
EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE MATTER
Qualifications and training
My training and qualifications are in reproductive microsurgery and reproductive medicine. I feel very fortunate to be one of an exceptionally limited number of fully qualified reproductive microsurgeons operating in Australia.
Having graduated with an honours degree in medicine and surgery from the University of New South Wales and and continued through specialty and sub-specialty training over more than 10 years I am now a Royal Australian College certified sub-specialist (specialists’ specialist) in reproductive microsurgery and infertility.
Previously, I have been been awarded both the Chris Hudson Fellowship and the Brown Craig Travelling Fellowship and have undertaken postgraduate sabbatical leave to gain further training and experience at America's most prestigious universities - Harvard and Yale.
With membership of the Fertility Society of Australia, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology I believe I am well equipped to provide you with advice and assistance to help you make the best decision and obtain the optimal outcome from your fertility treatment.
Genea is Australia's leading provider of IVF and advanced fertility management.
